Custom Challenge Coins That Tell Your Story

A custom coin should be more than a logo stamped into metal. It should capture the people, mission, history, and moments that matter to your organization.

Aviation Soul creates custom challenge coins for aviation organizations, museums, flight schools, military units, airshows, businesses, nonprofits, and individuals. From the first idea through final delivery, we help shape your story into a coin people will be proud to carry, display, present, or collect.

Every coin tells a story. Let's create yours.

More Than a Coin Manufacturer

There are plenty of companies that can manufacture a challenge coin. Aviation Soul helps you create the right one.

We understand aviation history, aircraft, pilot culture, commemorative design, and the emotional connection people have with the organizations and missions they represent. Whether you arrive with finished artwork, a rough sketch, or simply an idea, we can help turn it into a production-ready design.

Aviation museums and historical organizations. Transform aircraft, exhibits, anniversaries, and important stories into collectible pieces that support your mission and preserve history.

Airshows and special events. Event merchandise, commemorative editions, volunteer recognition, sponsor gifts, and limited-run collectibles.

Flight schools and aviation businesses. Celebrate student milestones, employee achievements, company anniversaries, aircraft deliveries, or customer relationships.

Military, public safety, and service organizations. Honor units, departments, missions, retirements, deployments, promotions, and years of service.

Memorial and legacy projects. Create a lasting tribute that preserves someone's story, celebrates their impact, or supports a cause connected to their legacy.

Fundraising and retail programs. Develop a coin your organization can sell, distribute, or use to raise funds, with custom backer cards and retail-ready packaging available.

From Idea to Finished Coin

  1. Tell us the story. We begin with the purpose behind the coin. Who will receive it, and what should it represent? Use the form below with the occasion, rough quantity, and any artwork or references you already have.
  2. Develop the concept. Our design team turns your ideas and source material into a cohesive coin concept. You do not need finished artwork. Reference photos, patches, logos, sketches, aircraft images, and written ideas are enough to begin.
  3. Review your proposal and artwork proof. You receive a clear proposal covering specifications, quantity options, pricing, packaging, and timeline, plus an artwork proof showing both sides of the coin.
  4. Approve the final design. Production does not begin until artwork, specifications, quantity, pricing, and timeline are approved. Review names, dates, aircraft details, spelling, and logo usage carefully.
  5. Production and quality control. Once approved, the mold is created and your coins move into manufacturing. When they arrive, we inspect finish, color, artwork, edges, and packaging before preparing the order.
  6. Delivery. Your coins arrive packaged per the selected option, ready to present, distribute, display, or sell. Most projects run four to six weeks from approved artwork to coins in hand.

Make the Coin Your Own

Size and shape. Our standard custom coin is 1.75 inches. Other sizes and fully custom shapes are available when the design calls for it.

Finishes. Antique Silver, Antique Gold, Antique Brass, Polished Silver, and Polished Gold. Antique finishes are especially strong for aviation, military, and heritage designs.

Color. Classic die-struck metal with no color, enamel color on one or both sides, or detailed UV-printed artwork. We recommend the method that best reproduces your design.

Dimensional detail. Traditional 2D raised and recessed detail, sculpted 3D relief, or both. Three-dimensional production is especially effective for aircraft, portraits, and emblems.

Edges and special features. Standard, rope, cross cut, wave cut, oblique, and reeded edges, plus interior cutouts, sequential numbering, engraved edge text, and epoxy coatings by custom quote. Have an unusual idea? Tell us what you are trying to create.

Packaging and Presentation

The way a coin is presented can be just as important as the coin itself. Options include clear PVC pouches, velvet presentation bags, protective capsules, velvet boxes, acrylic stands, and custom retail backer cards.

Retail-ready custom coins. We can help your organization create a complete retail product, not merely a loose coin. Our custom backer card carries your story, branding, or fundraising message, packaged with the coin for museum shops, event booths, gift stores, online stores, and fundraising campaigns.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum order quantity? Custom orders start at 50 coins. Most projects run between 50 and 500, and pricing improves as quantity goes up.

How much do custom coins cost? Pricing depends on quantity, size, dimensional detail, color method, finish, edge style, packaging, and special features. After learning about your project we provide a clear proposal with quantity-based pricing.

Is artwork included? Artwork and design support can be included in your proposal. Bring finished files, reference material, or just the concept.

Can you recreate an aircraft accurately? Yes. Clear reference photos, model information, paint schemes, and markings help us get it right, and you confirm the final details on the artwork proof.

Can you use our logo or patch? Yes, provided you have permission to reproduce it. The highest-quality source file, preferably vector artwork, gives the best result.

How long does production take? Timing begins after the artwork and specifications are approved. Most projects run four to six weeks from approval to coins in hand. Tell us about any event date or firm deadline in your inquiry so we can evaluate the schedule before quoting.

Will we see the design before production? Always. You receive an artwork proof for review and approval before anything is minted.

Can we reorder the same coin later? Yes. Production molds are generally retained for a limited period, which may allow reorders without repeating the mold charge. Availability and pricing are confirmed at reorder time.

Full terms are in our Custom Coin Order Terms.
